Over the past few weeks, students have enjoyed enriching visits to Ashington Community Woodland. These visits have given them the opportunity to explore and connect with the natural environment while developing important skills and values.

Students have shown great enthusiasm while navigating the woodland space with their friends, fostering teamwork and social connections. Activities such as relaxing in hammocks and whittling sticks with potato peelers have provided a valuable introduction to knife skills, allowing students to demonstrate responsibility and their ability to manage risk safely.

Additionally, the introduction of creative projects like leaf bunting and tree clay faces has encouraged students to use natural resources imaginatively, promoting respect for nature and an appreciation for the outdoors.
